The National Company for Glass Industries
– Zoujaj
|
|
|
In
1998, The National Company for Glass Industries (Zoujaj) chose IFS as
its preferred ERP solution. With two glass container factories, one in
Riyadh and the other in Dammam, with a total annual production capacity
of around 80,000 MT, it also has an equity participation in the Float
Glass Factory located in Al-Jubail Industrial City with an annual
production of over 131,0000 MT of float glass. The float glass project
is a joint venture between Guardian Industries Corp. of USA (45%), The
National Company for Glass Industries “Zoujaj” (45%), and Eastern
Industrial Investment Co. (10%).
IFS has been selected by Zoujaj after evaluating many ERP solutions, because of its relative
functionalities, versatile database, its capability to work in
diversified platforms, and finally its popular Network Operating
System...The implementation of Finance & Distribution started in Q4 of
1998…Manufacturing & Maintenance of IFS are very powerful; we have an
idea to make use of these modules (in the future).

Halwani Bros |
|
|
Back in 1997, Halwani Brothers (HB) was conducting a company-wide
assessment of its existing computer system and work procedures. As par
of this assessment, HB examined many ERP systems in the market, and had
to make sure it found a solution that would conform to its business
practice, as well as meet its projected requirements, while preserving a
low-risk investment and step-by-step evolution.
HB
purchased IFS Financials, IFS Distribution, IFS Manufacturing, IFS
Maintenance, and IFS Human Resources.
Four
different business solution packages were being evaluated by HB, among
which IFS. However, the edge IFS had over the rest of the
competitors was obvious; from the unique component-based architecture,
to the extreme flexibility and high level of ease of integration,
factors which easily thrust IFS to our shortlist, causing our eventual
selection.
Furthermore, IFS Arabia provided excellent mapping and matching between HB requirements and IFS Applications through a highly achieved Business
Process Review (BPR). Carefully assigned steering committees from both
sides and generous support from IFS Arabia, all contributed to good
control over implementation in general and over the business steps in
particular, increasing awareness of ERP, and maximizing utilization of
IFS Applications, leading thus to a successful implementation (in
November 1999).
“hrough IFS applications, our overall performance has greatly improved,
from dramatic document reduction and quality of management report
information, to time-efficient productivity and customer demand
satisfaction. IFS contributed to the reduction of a maintenance
order from a 2-day span to a 2-hour maximum time, whereas in
manufacturing, it allowed for a better monitoring of product lines, good
analysis of factory utilization of equipment and material consumption,
and most important, we were able to incorporate IFS report forms
functions into the ISO procedure.
“In addition to the maintenance service that provides free minor
upgrades and major yearly releases, and in perspective of our high
satisfaction with IFS products and IFS Arabia services, we are currently
studying the possibility of deploying IFS eBusiness and IFS Business
Performance to further enhance performance to cover our 1,000+
distributors and 2,500+ clients.

Food
Manufacturers Co. – Ulker |
|
|
When Food Manufacturers Co. – Ulker – signed with IFS Arabia in 1999,
their choice spawned from the critical need to shift from their
financial and manufacturing legacy systems to a more advanced and
flexible ERP system.
With its flexibility, user-friendliness, and step-by-step capabilities,
IFS Financials, Distribution, and Manufacturing served the requirements
of Ulker, with IFS Financials being the first phase leading to the
go-live stage.
“IFS Financials is simply great. It
works very well and is easy to understand. It is the software for
highly professional business environments.”
Arsenio G. Tumalad
Finance Manager
The implementation time constituted yet
another record with less than 3 months. Less than a year later,
Ulker purchased IFS Human Resources / Time & Attendance & RegTime and
was running live for more than 300 users.

Textile & Ready Made Garments Co. Ltd. –
Saudi Thobe |
|
In
1999, Textile & Ready Made Garments Co. Ltd. – Saudi Thobe (ST) chose
IFS Applications as their preferred business management ERP solution
when they signed a deal with IFS Arabia for IFS Finance, Distribution,
and Human Resources. Only 6 weeks later, ST were running fully live,
establishing thus a record implementation time in ERP terms.
The agreement with IFS Arabia
has had a constructive imprint in inducing a substantial shift in the
efficiency of ST, where IFS Applications contributed in developing ST’s
performance in a notable manner. Furthermore IFS Arabia’s open
communication channel and constant technical support constitutes a
reserve of trust and a motive for further cooperation and partnership in
which serves the mutual benefits of both companies.

Hyundai |
|
|
When
Hyundai won the bid to build and upgrade power plants in the
Saudi Electric Company (SEC), it had to select a package to
manage the maintenance of these huge investments. Hyundai
appointed Hyundai Information Technology Co. Ltd. (HIT) as a
consultant for SEC, who worked closely with them on selecting
the appropriate package.
After minute evaluations of a system that would meet the high
demands of SEC, especially in the field of advanced
maintenance of power plants, IFS won the favour of HIT and SEC
due to its convenient componential structure, and the major
fact that the solution was fully Arabized. Further enforcing
the decision was the strong local support of IFS Arabia
offices. In the step-by-step frame offered by IFS, SEC
decided to implement IFS Maintenance and IFS Distribution as a
first stage, and IFS Human Resources as a second stage, in 3
power plants in the Kingdom. Thanks to IFS Arabia, SEC now
has greater control on maintenance and scheduling and more
efficient monitoring of employee attendance. In the joint
effort that is the project between IFS Arabia and HIT, IFS
Arabia has shown high professionalism and advanced experience
all throughout implementation.
Further to that, post-implementation support
is abundant and on-demand, where the IFS Arabia Support Desk
and team work together in perfect coordination to provide the
necessary requirements through the advanced efficiency and
remote convenience of IFS Active Link. Another advantage is
that through the maintenance with IFS Arabia, SEC receives all
the upgrades – whether minor or major – automatically, so we
know that we are constantly up-to-date with IFS. Sec is
currently studying the high possibility of expanding IFS to
all power plants in the Kingdom.
