| IFS Conference for this
year was co-sponsored by VOLVO, SUN Microsystems, CASIO
and Nour Net.
Among the attendees for
the day were IFS Existing Customers, Executives, Senior
Managers and IT Professionals from the Private &
Public Sectors as well as the media.
In his opening remarks,
the Swedish Ambassador gave an overview of the current
IT development and advancements made in Sweden in the
field of IT for both the various government initiatives
and the private sector, illustrating the importance
IT plays in the western countries in general and Sweden
in particular. In his presentation, the Swedish Ambassador
made a specific reference to the advancements made in
the areas of e-government, aviation and defense industries
as well as electricity and the automotive industries.
IFS Managing Director Eng.
Khalid Suliman then gave a presentation on the development
and the functionality offered by IFS applications latest
release. One major point made is the advancements made
by IFS AB in the areas of Mobile & Wireless Solutions.
In addition, one of IFS key strengths is its ability
to connect to other systems and applications providing
complete integration across the enterprise, thus improving
efficiency and reducing costs.
Mr. Jerzy Leasinski, IFS
Arabia assistant operations manager, then presented
the new features offered by IFS 2004 release. He then
presented the all new IFS Support Center structure,
which is aimed at greatly enhancing IFS Support to the
existing client base with support agreements by allowing
remote access for IFS support staff to the customer
system in order investigate the problem and install
the required solution, this will provide faster response
to customers support calls and at the same time improve
efficiency of support staff, which in turn will enable
them to respond to a greater number of calls. Mr. Leasinski
also announced that the new release of IFS 2004 is now
fully Arabized, this makes it the 7th generation of
IFS applications being Arabized by IFS Arabia.
During the day, a practical demonstration was done for
integrating IFS with Mobile solutions, this was done
by linking IFS applications to Casio Hand Held Terminals,
this offering has many practical uses including Inventory
Receiving, checking and issuing of stock, Van Sales,
Integration with Hospital Management Systems, etc..
